On United Nations World Water Day your club can make a lasting difference to some of the poorest people in the world. By holding a Water, Wine and Wisdom evening you can help change lives.

Soroptimist International Clubs from across the UK have generously supported WaterAid during United Nations World Water Day in 2006 and 2007. In 2008, donations from Soroptimist International Clubs in the UK will again support WaterAid's work in Nigeria.

"I have to collect water three or four times a day for my family," says Sa'a whose choice of water source is currently limited to a river nearly an hour away or a pond 20 minutes away. Both are polluted. "It is my duty to make sure the container for water at home isn't empty." Sa'a Ali, 13, Fikayi, Nigeria.

Your Club can help to provide some of the world's poorest people with clean water, sanitation and hygiene education by holding a cheese and wine or wine tasting evening with a touch of wisdom. Enjoy a great evening testing your knowledge with the WaterAid Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland quiz and raise funds for WaterAid through charging an entry fee and collecting donations.
