WaterAid has launched a new global strategy for 2015-2020 designed to help reach everyone, everywhere with safe water, sanitation and hygiene by 2030. We believe extreme poverty cannot be eradicated without universal access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. Everyone on our planet needs them to live healthy, dignified and productive lives. Our new strategy is designed to accelerate transformational change towards our vision of a world where everyone, everywhere has these basic services. As the world starts to work towards the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, we will take action with our partners to reach the world’s poorest and most marginalised people by driving change at all levels. We have four new aims: we will tackle the inequalities in access to water, sanitation and hygiene and assist in strengthening sustainable services. We will also work with others – such as the health and education sectors – to integrate water, sanitation and hygiene into their plans and policies. And we will also have a strong focus on hygiene behaviour in order to drive demand and maximise the benefits of having access to safe water and sanitation.
