WaterAid UK is looking for a self-motivated volunteer to provide on-going support with content development for the website and social media channels, engaging with members in various countries and transferring of content to the new website.

25 Aug 2017
  • Position type : Volunteer
  • Deadline : 25 Aug 2017
  • Salary : Unpaid

Time Commitment:
5-12 hours a week, from mid-August to December (Possibility of extension) in London / Remote working environment
Remuneration:
Reimbursement of travel expenses within Greater London, lunch allowance of up to £6/day (where the working day is more than 6 hrs)

Background:
It’s hard to believe that today 844 million people do not have clean water and 2.3 billion do not have a decent toilet – around one in three of the world’s population. Every two minutes a child under five dies from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation.

We started because no NGO like us existed. We’ll end when no organisation like us is needed. In the meantime, we’re making great progress – since 1981, we have reached 25 million people with clean water and, since 2004, 24 million people with sanitation.

Purpose of Role:
End Water Poverty (EWP) is a global civil society coalition hosted by WaterAid, campaigning to end the water and sanitation crisis. EWP is currently going through exciting changes, including developing a new/more engaging website. The purpose of this role is to provide on-going support with content development for the website and social media channels, engaging with members in various countries and transferring of content to the new website.

3. Develop and publish content for EWP’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram).
4. Contribute to the planning of EWP’s annual campaign (Water Action Month). This entails speaking to members around the world, organising a global campaign to end water poverty.
5. Regularly communicating with members, encouraging them to share their stories in order for EWP to publish their work on its website.

• Excellent communication and editing skills
• Ability to contribute to EWP's social media channels
