Thank you AusAID
The Australian Government’s overseas aid program, AusAID, has allocated two significant grants to WaterAid for projects in seven country programs.
|
WaterAid became a fully accredited agency with AusAID in 2009 and this ensures that we can provide funding for programs in Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea as well as providing the opportunity to apply for other AusAID grants. The two additional grants demonstrate that we are continuing to work effectively and collaboratively with the Australian Government.
Peter Dwan, Head of International Programs, said: “We are very grateful to the Australian Government for its strong support of WaterAid’s work with partners in poor communities. We are thrilled to have been able to access these important funds as part of our contribution to the successful implementation of the Global Strategy.”
Where will the funding go?
One grant will provide funds to a major WaterAid partner in Nepal for its rural WASH program. The other covers additional funding for projects in Ethiopia, Malawi, Bangladesh, India and Timor-Leste.
