Call for abstract(s): Climate Change and Sanitation

6 Nov 2017

The South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN) is a government-led biennial convention to provide a regional platform for the South Asian countries – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – to interact on sanitation.

Two years after the successful completion of SACOSAN-VI in Bangladesh, SACOSAN-VII is scheduled to be hosted in February/ March 2018 in Pakistan. The conference offers an opportunity for regional-level discussions on the critical issues of sanitation for the first time since the adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SACOSAN-VII Secretariat invites professionals to submit technical papers on selected thematic priorities. As part of this process, Bangladesh is issuing a call for abstracts on the theme of ‘Climate Change and Sanitation’. Given Bangladesh’s unique vulnerability and experience of dealing with climate change, it is expected that submitted papers will contribute to supporting regional progress in the critical juncture of climate change and sanitation, and ultimately to the achievement of Global Goal 6.
