Water and sanitation conference captures media attention On World Toilet Day a press conference organised by CONIWAS – the coalition of NGOs working with water and sanitation – captured the media's imagination.
The press conference, which saw massive participation by over 20 media houses in Accra, raised awareness about the importance of safe sanitation and called for key actions to improve the situation in Ghana.

Local Government commits to water and sanitation WaterAid and its partners have signed a formal agreement to forge a closer working relationship with local government.
The agreement, a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), involves eleven district assemblies in Ghana and spells out the responsibilities when planning and implementing District Water and Sanitation Plans and rooted advocacy.
