The information on this page is a summary of WaterAid's income and expenditure for the year ended 31 March 2006.

Total annual income rose by 26% to £26.9m, making strong headway towards our strategic aim to raise £35m a year by 2010. With an ever-growing demand from our country programmes and our partners, more financial resources simply mean more projects can be implemented and more people gain access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education.

WaterAid’s income has now increased by 245% over the past five years and has been fuelled by sustained investment, rising by around 300% over the same period, in both voluntary and public fundraising and in communications.

Total expenditure in 2005/06 was £25.2m of which £19.4m was spent on our charitable activities.

WaterAid plans to increase total income by 18% to £31.8 million in 2006/07.
