Programme Funding Officer – East Africa

Based in Vauxhall, London, £29,218 pa

As part of our Programme Funding Team, you will work closely with WaterAid colleagues overseas to raise and manage grants from institutional donors (multi-laterals, bi-laterals and larger foundations).

You will perform a proactive role, supporting country programmes to raise restricted funds, implement funded projects to ensure compliance with donor contract conditions – and promote best practices in fundraising and contract management. This will involve working closely with WaterAid's country programmes and other WaterAid staff including our alliances (WaterAid America, WaterAid Australia and WaterAid Sweden) to build staff capacity to explore, access and manage institutional funding.

You will need to be a positive team player, with the ability to drive projects and maintain momentum with minimal supervision. Your experience of working with institutional donors, writing high-quality proposals, managing contracts and working with complex budgets will be critical to your success. You will also need to have experience of conducting training, and working or travelling in the developing world.
