Update on DFID grant for WaterAid's work in Bangladesh

2008-09 saw the successful completion of the five year, DFID funded ASEH programme in
Bangladesh.
The achievement in terms of the total number of people supported to access WASH services over the five years - 1.8million, 5.65 million and 6.83 million people gained
access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene respectively - has been very impressive.
Of wider significance is that ASEH shows that community based solutions to the challenges faced in
the watsan sector that are affordable and sustainable can be taken to scale.
