WaterAid in Mali and its partners have officially launched a WASH taskforce, in the presence of the technical council of the Ministry of Water, government technical services representatives, decision-makers and international and national organisation representatives.

The taskforce formed because despite many efforts and achievements gaps in expertise and competences in the WASH sector still exist. WaterAid and it partners engaged in a number of activities and consultations prior to the group's formation.

"The taskforce has so far attracted much interest, especially from technical and financial partners," commented WaterAid in Mali's Communications Officer Abdourahmane Coulibaly. "Now we have the challenge of living up to the expectations the public has of us, and putting into practice the group's action plans as effectively as possible."
