Walking for water and sanitation

Every 22 March is World Water Day and this year, over 300,000 people from 30 countries took part in a global walk for water and sanitation.

This annual event raises awareness of the water and sanitation crisis and provides an opportunity to call on decision-makers to fulfil everyone, everywhere’s human rights to these essentials.

Around the world, we used this opportunity to take action on water and sanitation and make our voices heard.

In Nigeria, WaterAid walked with Government, Private Sector, CSO partners as well as the general public to raise awareness and call on all our stakeholders to end water poverty. There has also been a series of radio and social media engagements to mobilize and engage citizens.
