Dass Women Multi Purpose Co-operative Union
Dass Women Multi Purpose Co-operative Union implement integrated community based water supply, sanitation improvement and hygiene education projects and has been working in partnership with WaterAid since 2000. The projects are run alongside WaterAid support for capacity development of the LGA. DWMCU is a pilot semi-urban and peri-urban project that will draw lessons on targeting the urban poor and marginalised.
Development Exchange Centre, (DEC)
The Development Exchange Centre (DEC) has a mission to empower and uplift the status of poor women. The organisation is involved in several community development projects such as micro-credit, reproductive health and literacy programmes. Prior to the partnership with WaterAid, there was an attempt in water supply but the capacity for sustenance was lacking, hence the project was abandoned. In 2000, water and sanitation was taken on again in partnership with WaterAid. The NGO works in Bauchi, Bogoro, and Darazo Local Govt. Councils.
