Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) presents one of the biggest threats to human health. If solutions are not implemented promptly and effectively, AMR is predicted to cause over 10 million deaths annually by 2050 and cumulatively cost over $100 trillion in lost global production. One of the five strategic objectives of the Global Action Plan on AMR urges action to reduce the incidence of infection through effective sanitation, hygiene and infection prevention measures. Nowhere is this more critical than in settings where health care associated infections (HCAI) play a significant role in AMR. We are calling on organisations to join a pledge and show their support in the fight against antimicrobial resistance in health care facilities. Please read the pledge and sign up to demonstrate your organisation's support for clear and urgent action on this crucial agenda.
