Agilane Saide, Biarro Sanjala, Mozambique
Six year old Agilane lives with her family in Mozambique. Her mother Fatima explains the difference their new well next to her house has brought to her and her children.
"Before we had the well I used to collect my water from the swamp and it was very bad. We used to get many diseases like diarrhoea. In the dry season we would have to dig out holes at the bottom of the mud. This was very hard work - it was tiring and I used to get back problems too.
The children could not wash before they went to school or they would have to go and collect water. Now they can wash very quickly, they always go to school on time. Their health is much better too now. It is a good well, it has released our burden."
Mithu, Laloich village, Bangladesh
Mithu is 10 and lives in Bangladesh. He's a leader of the Children's Rally. Every week all the kids march through the village reminding the adults to wash their hands!
"I have learnt to shout so loud from my teacher. I saw that people were getting diseases but I have learnt that it's easy to stop it, and now we have! I had to persuade my dad to get a latrine, and now we have one. We have new toilets at school too.
"Now, if I saw a friend going to the toilet in the bushes I'd tell him not too. I'd say 'if you don't have a latrine, use my one!'"
Eleven year old Rose lives in Mbabala, Tanzania with her two younger brothers and her mother.
Her community have worked with WaterAid to build a safe water supply, latrines and are learning about good hygiene. Rose is also a member of a hygiene education group.
"Everyday I get up, have a wash, clean my teeth, do some cleaning around the home, then go to school," she says. "After school I collect water for my family. In the old days everything was terrible. We all had diarrhoea and worms because of the dirty water. But now we've got clean water it is much better. People don't get ill now."
