WaterAid supporters visit Uganda WaterAid in Uganda hosted supporters from the UK for a week in September 2008, touring areas in the districts of Kampala, Mpigi and Masindi.
The trip focussed on comparing areas with poor water and sanitation and WaterAid project areas.

The coalition campaign, of which WaterAid is an active member, aims to achieve its goal of total sanitation in Uganda by seizing political support. The campaign leaders, working under the slogan 'Good sanitation. Better living.' reiterated the importance of political involvement.

Joint Sector Review 2007 From the 17 to 19 October 2007, WaterAid attended the seventh Joint Sector Review on the water and sanitation 2006/07.
The event allows a broad spectrum of stakeholders to get an insight to, discuss and influence sector developments. We are delighted to have influenced a number of the forum's policies including achieving our End Water Poverty campaign objective on enforcement of sanitation by laws and regulations.

Uganda country strategy 2006 - 2011 WaterAid's Uganda country strategy 2006 to 2011 paper sets out the organisation’s vision and mission, and outlines its strategic objectives, key aims and indicators of achievement.
The paper stresses the need for a strong programme based approach. WaterAid in Uganda believes that the most effective way to
sustainably improve access to water and sanitation is to work with and through existing Ugandan organisations.

Prince Charles draws water in Kampala slums His Royal Highness The Prince Of Wales, WaterAid's President, took time out from the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting to visit WaterAid's work in the slums of Kawempe.
The Prince spent time visiting a new water kiosk and hearing about the difference it had made to the lives of the local attendant and other members of the community.

The Skyloo's the limit The rocky soil in Kitayita village, Uganda, has meant digging pit latrines has always been a problem.
But the Skyloo composting latrine is proving very popular. Not only is it constructed at ground level, it also turns human waste into rich fertiliser!
