WaterAid Uganda

WaterAid is an international charity dedicated to helping people escape from poverty and disease caused by living without safe water and sanitation. WaterAid works in Uganda to help establish sustainable water supplies and latrines and to influence government policy to serve the interests of vulnerable people.

18 February 2011: Judgment day for presidential and local government elections in Uganda

A boy drinks clean waterUgandans are electing the President, Parliamentary representatives and District Local Government Council for the next five years. In comparison with previous elections, this time water and sanitation has been high on the political agenda of many candidate.

WaterAid in Uganda partner NGOs implementing the Governance and Transparency Programme have used this opportunity to remind citizens to vote for candidates promising to address pertinent water and sanitation issues at different levels of governance.
