Social bookmarking and RSS

News stories on the WaterAid website now includes links to a range of social bookmarking and sharing websites. These links can be found in the "Bookmark and share" box at the foot of the news story:

Social bookmarks and sharing sites allow you to store, tag and share links across the internet. You can share these links with friends and people with similar interests. You can also access your links from any computer you happen to be using.

So, if you are interested in WaterAid's work and find a story that you find interesting, why not share it with other people? Doing so helps spread the word about WaterAid. Simply click on one of the Share links. Or, if you come across a story and want to save for future reference, you can do so using these bookmarks.

All of these sites are free to use but do require you to register first. Once you have registered you can begin bookmarking and sharing.

RSS RSS feeds

RSS feeds send you alerts when web pages have been updated, without you having to visit the website itself. 'RSS' stands for Really Simple Syndication.

To use these feeds, you need to use an RSS reader. These are programmes that automatically check selected websites for updated items. The latest web browsers, such as Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2, come with built-in feed-reading software.
