On 19 March, WaterAid's Lydia Zigomo spoke to Jane Garvey about sanitation on Radio 4's Woman's Hour following the launch of a new book, The Last Taboo, by Maggie Black and Ben Fawcett.
The book exposes the shocking statistic that in 2008, the UN designated Year of Sanitation, 2.6 billion people worldwide still have nowhere to go to the loo.
Lydia, Jane and and Maggie discuss sanitation issues, in particular the problems posed to women and girls, who often miss out on school due to the indignity of having nowhere to go to the toilet.

Further discussion on the book with WaterAid's Girish Menon is also featured on the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine's recent Global Health Podcast.
