WaterAid celebrates World Toilet Day around the globe

World Toilet Day was marked across the globe on 19 November to raise awareness of the plight of 2.5 billion people living without proper sanitation and to spur people into action.                                 

Events included the launch of a Community Led Total Sanitation programme in a small village in Burkina Faso, a human chain made up of 5,000 children in India, the transformation of some posh loos in London, school competitions, demonstrations and more in Tanzania, and comprehensive media coverage in Paskistan.
