Buckets of pennies for buckets of water
Just over £10 can bring safe water to a person for life, just 1000 pennies. Imagine the difference a bucket full could make.
World Water Day on 22 March 2002 is the UN designated day to reflect upon world water issues.
Following the success of last year's appeal WaterAid is asking schools and youth groups around the country to help make a difference and collect buckets of pennies for buckets of water.
Last year thousands of schoolchildren took part and simply by filling buckets with pennies they managed to raise over £21,000. This year we want to do even better! We'll use your pennies to bring buckets of safe, clean water to some of the poorest communities in Africa and Asia.

Meadows Aromatherapy supports WaterAid
Long-time WaterAid supporter and Oasis reader Darryn Payne owns an aromatherapy company specialising in pure, high quality essential oils and other natural aromatherapy products. He has decided to increase his support for WaterAid by donating five pence from each bottle in the essential oil range towards WaterAid's work.
Included in the range are rose and melissa oils, sourced ethically by Meadows Aromatherapy from a farm in Zambia. Meadows has been supporting the farm as their sole client for a number of years and estimate that 300 people are supported directly and indirectly by the venture.

WaterAid bikini
WaterAid has teamed up with high street fashion retailer, Hennes & Mauritz (H&M), to produce a watery-themed bikini for summer.
The bikini will be sold in H&M stores worldwide, with 10% of the advertised price donated to WaterAid. We are expecting at least 25,000 bikinis to be sold raising a minimum of £21,000 for WaterAid's work.
By purchasing the bikini, women in the developed world will be able to extend a helping hand to women in the countries where WaterAid works. So dive into the swimwear rails at H&M stores across the UK from April onwards and fish out this unique WaterAid design.
