West Surrey support group was started in 2008. We are an enthusiastic group of people drawn together by a desire to raise funds for and awareness of WaterAid.

We have meetings about twice a year to discuss fundraising events, the main one being the annual Walk for Water on the beautiful North Downs near Guildford. It is held on a Saturday in mid-June. Individual walkers are invited to follow one of our four well way-marked circular routes (which range from ½ mile to 8 miles) and to make a donation and/or seek sponsorship. This year we are inviting other WaterAid Local Groups to use our routes to raise their own funds for WaterAid.

We always have a street collection on World Water Day and World Toilet Day, and other activities range from plant sales to carol singing, from art exhibitions and sales to 'Pudding Club' dining events and from benefit concerts to circle dancing. We have also started a series of public meetings and gained new supporters.

We are proud to have raised thousands of pounds for WaterAid. We also campaign locally and nationally, and several of our members are trained WaterAid Speakers who give talks in the West Surrey area.

We are always looking for new ideas for fundraising. New supporters are very welcome to join our informal and friendly group. Please contact Louise at [email protected], call Dave or Linda on 07934 839608 or visit our website to find out more.
