Segueda spends nine hours a day not earning a living.

In Burkina Faso in West Africa, Segueda Zouga (pictured right) has no choice but to spend her days collecting dirty water from a hole and her nights worrying about the safety of the water. Segueda explains:

"Water is the overwhelming problem in my life and in the lives of the other families in this village. All day I think about nothing else. At night I go to sleep worrying about fetching water and about what will happen if there is no water for us to fetch tomorrow."

  • Give Segueda piece of mind and a chance to earn a living
By helping us provide a safe water supply, your gift can stop women like Segueda worrying about water and free up their time so that they can start to earn a living.
  • Plus a chance to send her children to school
Your gift could help prevent children like Segueda's from getting ill; saving families from the debt of medical costs and giving their children time to go to school.
  • Plus a chance to look forward to a healthy future
Your gift could help fund hygiene education projects that teach communities how to store drinking water, wash pots and use soap to wash hands, preventing the spread of disease.

Other donation methods
Regular giving goes a long way
  • £2 a month, over a year, is as little as it could cost to help give a person safe, clean water for life.

  • £5 a month, over a year, could pay for one pit latrine for two households in Mali.

  • £15 a month, over a year, could rehabilitate a borehole with a pump - providing water for up to 250 people in Zambia.
* Donating regularly to us by Direct Debit saves administration costs and, because we know how much money is coming in, enables us to plan our work more effectively.
