Give us a phone!

Mobile phone graphic

Recycling your mobile with WaterAid is an easy and cost free way to help change the lives of some of the world's poorest people.

On average, WaterAid receives £5 for each phone recycled, so just three phones can help enable one person to gain access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation.

Got an old mobile sitting in your drawer at home?

You can help us transform lives by sending your old handset(s) in a jiffy bag to the freepost address below or by requesting a freepost bag from corporate@wateraid.org

How about holding a collection at your workplace or school?

All you need to do is collect the handsets in a box and then follow this easy process:

  • On our mobile recycling homepage, simply select one of the models you have in your collection, search for it on the site and add it to your ‘shopping cart’
  • When you proceed to the check out, you will be asked to create a business account which only takes a minute to log your details
  • Once completed, an order number will be generated
  • When your order has gone through, you will be notified by email and a cheque for the phones’ value will be sent to WaterAid who will acknowledge receipt directly to you.

Got 15 phones or more?

You can now organise your FREE courier collection by calling 0207 404 6440 and quoting your order number. Remember, you only need to log one phone and all your other handsets will be processed by our partner once they’ve received them.

If you have fewer than 15 phones, please process them as above and then send them in a jiffy bag with your order number and company name to:

Putting your mobile donation into perspective

It's true, donating your old mobiles can change lives!
  • £1 could pay for a hygiene promotion manual in Bangladesh
  • £3.50 could pay for a tap in Nigeria
  • £6 could pay for a bag of cement in Nepal
  • £7 could pay for a mason to construct a family latrine in Burkina Faso
  • £10 could pay for a tool and spares kit for a handpump in Mozambique

  • And just £15 can enable one person to access safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation.
