Learn more about WaterAid’s Big History Project

2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the UK’s first modern sewer system, which transformed our cities and helped eliminate diseases like cholera. As part of this celebration, we’re inviting you to take part in WaterAid’s Big History Project – and help us piece together the history of taps and toilets across the country.

Using your local stories, you can show MPs how these vital services dramatically changed our health and productivity – and ignite the political will needed to help towns and villages around the world experience the same transformation.

Our Big History Project toolkit includes lots of ideas and information to help you take part.
