What was your childhood dream? Every child has a dream for the future. But not every child has the opportunity to make it happen. Around 1 in 10 children don’t have clean water and 1 in 3 don’t have a decent toilet. For kids around the world without clean water and toilets, every day is a fight. A fight for clean water to drink, a fight to stay healthy and to get an education. Children like Samjhana, 12, (above) have to walk to collect dirty water every morning, before they can even get ready for school. The dirty water can make them ill, and make them miss school altogether. Every time a child misses school because they were collecting dirty water, or becomes sick from drinking it, they’re falling further and further behind. Their dreams are drifting out of reach. That’s why we’re launching The Water Fight: a global campaign to help remove the inequalities that are holding children back from a happy, healthy future.
