action/2015

We're part of action/2015, a global movement to make sure our leaders set truly ambitious goals in 2015, and make agreements to secure a happier, healthier future.

2015 is a critical year. It's the year world leaders will decide how to end extreme poverty, and make life-changing decisions about climate change, inequality and injustice; decisions that will determine the future for all of us, and our planet.

That's why we're part of action/2015, a global movement to make sure our leaders set truly ambitious goals this year, and make agreements to secure a happier, healthier future.

Hundreds of organisations in over 120 countries have already come together, with more pledging their support every week. And with so many of us demanding change at the same time, we can really make our voices heard.

We asked some of the people in the communities where we work what their hopes and dreams are for 2015. Watch the film below to find out what they told us:

What makes 2015 so important?

2015 is packed with dates and events that will determine what happens to our world.

This year, world leaders decided on a new UN development framework and climate agreement, and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have been replaced by the Global Goals, with the aim of ending extreme poverty by 2030.

Here in the UK, we've also elected a new government, giving us a unique chance to take stock and really challenge the Department for International Development about their commitments.

It's an incredible opportunity. But we also know how much depends on it. That's why we need you to pledge your support to make this the year we change history – and decide to end extreme poverty, for good.
