Put your company at the heart of something special

We focus on clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene – the three essentials that unlock progress for people, communities and economies worldwide.

Delivering Sustainable Development Goal Six by 2030 is going to demand new approaches, huge resourcefulness and genuine innovation.

That's why we develop strategic partnerships with businesses which are open to collaborating and co-creating new solutions.

With huge benefits for your company and the chance to transform lives, there are lots of great reasons to start a partnership with WaterAid.

Together against coronavirus

We're urgently scaling up hygiene programmes in the countries we work in, building handwashing facilities and promoting hygiene awareness – so communities are better able to protect themselves. Help us limit the spread of COVID-19 to support businesses and save lives.

Why partner with us?

Work with us to develop tailored partnerships that deliver shared value.

We collaborate to improve local water and sanitation infrastructure and the lives and livelihoods of people where your business operates. To do this, we provide a range of resources that help ensure WASH considerations are embedded within your corporate sustainability agenda.

A clear business case for action on WASH

In collaboration with CDP we analysed corporate responses, which demonstrated that lack of management or mismanagement of WASH issues can have detrimental socio-economic impacts for companies, whereas addressing WASH issues can have significant business benefits.

In response to the challenge of quantifying the business benefits of WASH investment, we have developed a practical, step-by-step guide that helps define the return on investment (ROI) from WASH.

Thought leadership

As the leading charity in the WASH sector, we have the technical skills, innovative thought, insight and ability to drive sector change through leadership and advocacy. Our report on corporate engagement on water supply, sanitation and hygiene highlights how we can drive progress on SDG6 through supply chains and voluntary standards.

A number of companies have already made WASH a priority within their water management strategies, as the following case-studies highlight:

Access to global networks and platforms

Join us and some of the leading organisations as part of global networks promoting effective WASH management within the water stewardship agenda and in making WASH management ‘business as usual’, including WASH4Work, CEO Water Mandate and Alliance for Water Stewardships.

Develop skills through our innovative approach to employee engagement and development, like our Winnovators programme.

Engage your consumers around a cause they really care about, while showcasing your social impact.

  • Providing access to clean water is the number one cause global consumers care about (Nielsen, Global CSR Survey, 2014). It’s also the number one cause UK customers want a brand to be involved with (Phar, UK survey 2016).
  •  WaterAid is seen as the number one organisation associated with work on access to water, sanitation and hygiene in developing countries (Phar, UK survey 2016).
  • 3 out of 4 UK adults are aware of WaterAid's brand (Phar, UK survey 2016).

WaterAid was set up by the private sector: water industry companies came together to support an organisation focused on water, sanitation and hygiene. Collaboration with companies is part of our history and at the heart of what we do.

We are looking for relationships that can grow over time, with people and organisations who share our vision. And we want to build unique partnerships that deliver great value for everyone.

You'll receive all the expertise we've learnt from working with the private sector for over 30 years, as well as advice and thought leadership to co-create long-term programmes.
