Through our new five-year partnership, WaterAid and Diageo are working together to enable communities in water-scarce areas to thrive, through access to safe water, decent toilets and improved hygiene.

At WaterAid, we know how precious safe water is and the difference it can make to communities around the world.

Our new partnership with Diageo will help us take vital steps towards reaching everyone everywhere with taps and toilets, working collaboratively to create bigger impact and empower local communities affected by water scarcity.

WaterAid has been working with Diageo since 2006. We have been their official charity partner for the Water of Life Half Marathon and 10k since 2011.

Through the Water of Life programme, alongside generous donations from its markets across the globe, Diageo has contributed over £1 million to support our work.

Enabling communities to thrive

Through our new five-year partnership, Diageo and WaterAid will be able to reach the most marginalised communities affected by water scarcity – communities like Ambicho village.

Located on the side of the Great East African Rift Valley, Ambicho is surrounded by dry and dusty terrain.

Water is scarce – so much so that clean water travels via a 20km pipe to reach the village.

Its arrival means the start of a brighter future, improving the health of families, enabling children to spend more time in school, and empowering women and community leaders to manage the water source to ensure its sustainability.
