About Natural Resources Wales

Natural Resources Wales is a Welsh Government-sponsored body which was set up in April 2013. It was formed in a merger of the Countryside Council for Wales, Environment Agency Wales, and the Forestry Commission Wales, and also assumes some other roles previously taken by Welsh Government. Its purpose is to ensure that the natural resources of Wales are sustainably maintained and improved, both now and in the future.
