Wessex Water

Wessex Water is a long-standing supporter of WaterAid and through their staff, customers and partners help us to deliver clean water, safe toilets and hygiene to some of the world’s poorest communities.

Special projects

In 2003, Wessex Water introduced a staff development scheme, Business4Life, which takes a group of 12 Wessex Water and contractor employees on a fundraising journey over the course of 12 months. The team are given management training in a variety of areas including marketing, finance, presentation skills, project management and negotiation skills. They then put these skills into practice by creating a ‘virtual company’. In 2014/15, the scheme raised more than £54,500 for WaterAid.

In 2008 Wessex Water introduced a new initiative, Wessex for West Africa, which sees contractors and suppliers take part in fundraising activities within their own organisations, with all funds raised going to countries in West Africa.
