Easedale – Central fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 16 km
Total ascent: 792 m
Approx. time required: 5.5 hrs

This walk ascends four Wainwrights, Silver How, Blea Rigg, Sergeant Man and Tarn Crag in a circular walk from Grasmere village in the centre of the Lake District going above and round Easedale Tarn. You will enjoy the views in all directions during the walk.

Eskdale medley – Southern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 14.4 km
Total ascent: 708 m
Approx. time required: 4.5 hrs

A 14.4km walk starting at the top of the Hardknott Pass with a relatively small amount of ascent to climb three Wainwrights – Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Green Crag. The summit of Hard Knott provides excellent views of the fells to the north including Scafell Pike, whilst the top of Harter Fell offers good views to the south.

Mell Fell medley – Eastern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 13.6 km
Total ascent: 662 m
Approx. time required: 4 hrs

This is a country walk through mainly farmland and up three of the lower Wainwrights, Great Mell Fell, Little Mell Fell and Gowbarrow in the north eastern part of the Lake District on the northern side of Ullswater. On a clear day you will see the Pennines.

Skiddaw from the South – Northern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 11.2 km
Total ascent: 794 m
Approx. time required: 4 hrs

This walk includes three Wainwrights: Lonscale Fell, Little Man and Skiddaw. The latter being the highest summit in the northern fells and a giant in the Lake District. Those climbing Skiddaw for the first time should feel a great sense of achievement, heightened in the final moments by a scramble over slates.

Swindale round – Far Eastern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 15.2 km
Total ascent: 782 m
Approx. time required: 6.75 hrs

This walk encompasses the most south eastern fells in the Lake District. The starting point is the road to Swindale and takes in four Wainwrights; Selside Pike, Branstree, Tarn Crag (Longsleddale) and Grey Crag with excellent views to the east and south. Being a quiet area you are likely to see deer.

Troutbeck medley – Far Eastern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 14 km
Total ascent: 1,048 m
Approx. time required: 6.5 hrs

This circular walk starts in Troutbeck Village and takes in four Wainwrights; Sour Howes, Sallows, Troutbeck Tongue and Wansfell. All the hills have there own individual character and a variety of good views.

The starting point for this walk is Patterdale and takes in four Wainwrights; Angletarn Pikes, Brock Crags, Rest Dodd and The Knott before returning back to Patterdale.

Around Rosthwaite – Central fells – Difficult

This walk around Borrowdale has three Wainwright peaks, Castle Crag, Great Crag and Grange Fell and you see three lovely villages, Grange, Rosthwaite and Stonethwaite. There are great views down to Derwentwater and beyond.

Back of Skiddaw – Northern fells – Difficult

Total ascent: 600 m
Approx. time required: 5 hrs

This route ascends five Wainwrights in a circular walk: Great Cockup, Meal Fell, Great Sca Fell, Brae Fell and Longlands Fell. There are good views out across the Solway Estuary and South Scotland with Skiddaw and Blencathra to the south.

Bow Fell – Southern fells – Difficult

A 16km walk climbing three high Wainwrights – Rossett Pike, Esk Pike and Bow Fell and is at the heart of the lakes about the Greater Langdale valley. Bow Fell itself is a pyramid shaped mountain and is one of Wainwright’s favourite half-dozen mountains.

Coledale horseshoe – North Western fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 14 km
Total ascent: 1,259 m
Approx. time required: 5 hrs

A classic lakeland horseshoe walk from Braithwaite village. This walk climbs steeply to Grisedale Pike then follows the grassy ridge to Coledale Hause (it is almost as easy and much more rewarding to add the extra Wainwright of Hopegill Head rather than take the direct line) before climbing again to Crag Hill on the other side of the horseshoe. The return route picks up Sail, Outerside and Barrow on route to Braithwaite.

Crinkle Crags – Southern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 13.6 km
Total ascent: 1,107 m
Approx. time required: 5.5 hrs

An excellent 12km walk encompassing the three Wainwrights around the head of Oxendale – Pike of Blisco, Cold Pike and Crinkle Crags. Pike of Blisco’s relative isolation gives excellent views from its summit and Crinkle Crags is one of the higher lakeland peaks.

Dow Crag from Walna Scar – Southern fells – Difficult
13.8 km
Total ascent: 921 m
Approx. time required: 4.5 hrs

This 14km walk from the centre of Coniston village offers the opportunity to climb the two furthest south of the Wainwrights – Dow Crag and Coniston Old Man. There are extensive views south down to Blackpool and west to the Isle of Man.

Langdale fells – Central fells – Difficult

This is one of the most popular walks in the Lake District with spectacular views and five rugged peaks to ascend via rocky and occasionally steep paths. The Wainwrights are Loft Crag, Pike O'Stickle, Thunacar Knott, Pavey Ark and Harrison Stickle.

South of Crummock Water – Western fells – Difficult

These three Wainwrights are at the west end of the long high ridge south of Buttermere. This circular walk goes to Red Pike, Starling Dodd and Great Borne.

Uldale fells – Northern fells – Difficult
Total distance (out & back): 14.4 km
Total ascent: 606 m
Approx. time required: 5 hrs

This circular walk includes five Wainwrights. These are Longlands Fell, Brae Fell, Great Sca Fell, Meal Fell and Great Cockup. The walking is generally easy and enjoyable. The open aspect of these fells allows the walker to see over relatively long distances and choose routes according to the terrain. This is a fell runners paradise.

West of Skiddaw – Northern fells – Difficult

Approx. time required: 3 hrs

This route west of Skiddaw includes four Wainwrights, The Dodd, Carlside, Longside and Ullock Pike. A steep climb from Millbeck reaches the Dodd then back down and up the grassy mound that is Carlside. From there the route follows Longside edge to Ullock Pike with the prospect of many rewarding views.
