WaterAid launches its new campaign action in support of End Water Poverty
The UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown is the focus of WaterAid’s new campaign action in support of End Water Poverty.
The campaign, 'It should be child's play', illustrates the fact that water, sanitation and hygiene education are the building blocks for development.
Using the imagery of a set of children's wooden blocks, the campaign also depicts the message that the current international effort on water and sanitation is in disarray and much more can and should be done to address this global scandal.
The campaign calls on the Prime Minster to be a sanitation champion, urging him to:
- Talk taps and toilets at the G8 in July and the Annual Meeting for Sanitation and Water in October, to ensure action from world leaders.
- Prioritise these fundamental human rights alongside health and education.
To build public pressure ahead of these two key influencing opportunities, WaterAid is promoting this campaign message far and wide. Get involved by taking action now - add your voice to the call for sanitation and water for all.
