WaterAid supporter Gloria Berneville-Clay made a statement last Wednesday evening when she headed to Trafalgar Square to sit on a giant toilet wearing a skeleton outfit.

Gloria took to the Fourth Plinth as part of Antony Gormley's "One & Other" art project, holding a placard with the words: "Dying for the loo? 2.5 billion people are" - along with the website address to our Loo’ve Been Framed campaign, which first inspired her to take action.

"We were really delighted to find out that Gloria was going to do this and asked how we could help," said Rhian Lewis, Campaigns Officer at WaterAid. "We thought it would be great if we could create a giant loo for her, to really add some impact."

The final effect, as the photo shows – of Gloria by the loo in her luminous outfit lit up against the late-night sky − was very powerful indeed.

Gloria is the fourth supporter to take part in the arts project which has proved to be a novel way of highlighting WaterAid's work.
