Water for harvest, water for life

As you give thanks this harvest time please help WaterAid work towards our vision of a world were everyone has access to safe water and sanitation.

Just one of the many ways WaterAid is making a difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest people is through rainwater harvesting schemes.

St Bernadette's school in Lower Nsooba, Uganda benefited from such a scheme. Pipes and guttering on the roof send rainfall to a large tank that provides pupils access to a lasting supply of safe, clean water.

Previously, the children spent much of their day collecting unclean water and high incidents of diarrhoeal diseases meant they regularly missed school.

You can play a role in enabling some of the world's poorest communities to access safe water, sanitation and hygiene education by supporting WaterAid this harvest time.

The Most Reverend and Right Honorable John Mugabi Tucker Sentamu, Archbishop of York "Access to water and sanitation form the first essential step in overcoming poverty. Please join me in supporting WaterAid in this essential work."
