Use your harvest activities to transform lives
Ester used to collect water from a river near her village in Malawi. The dirty water often made her family ill, preventing them from working or going to school.
But, like one in eight people around the world, they had no alternative. Now access to safe water has transformed her family's health and livelihoods. Ester explains:
It was difficult before the water;
we were unable to grow vegetables. Since the water came our lives have changed. We are not getting sick any more so we are saving time and being more productive.

WaterAid works with communities like Ester's, helping them plan, build and maintain safe water and sanitation projects. We use low-cost solutions and our projects can cost as little as £15 per person to provide life-saving water and sanitation.
