Masquerade Café

Stuart and the Masquerade Café offer refreshments and the use of the space for a donation to WaterAid.

Stuart Wilson, his team of volunteers and his dog Charles, have been supporting WaterAid since 2007.

Since then they have raised over £5,000 through the Masquerade café in Marske near Redcar. Instead of charging for tea, coffee and snacks, Stuart asks for donations to WaterAid. His volunteers make jam, cards and other gifts. Local community groups also make use of Masquerade's friendly atmosphere to host their meetings - for a donation towards WaterAid!

WaterAid Rutland Fundraising Group

The WaterAid Rutland Fundraising Group formed in 2006 and raise around £1,400 a year. Their events include a Christmas Tree Festival, a Water Walk and a hugely successful Wine and Jazz evening. Anne Lawson, Chairman of the group, visited WaterAid's work in Mali in February. Since her return, she has given a number of talks on her trip.

Dorset Support Group

The Dorset Support Group are one of newest groups but have already held a highly successful barn dance raising £700.

Peter Cadogan explains why he is part of a group:

"You start with open space and the challenge of putting something in it. It's exciting. The only way is forward. If you have a moment's doubt a thought about the people you are doing this for is enough to put you back on track."
