Aladdin and the Magic Bucket provides a fresh take on the story of Aladdin. It is set in the village of Kumekuwa in Africa where evil is afoot. The water supply is being polluted by an unknown source, forcing villagers to walk miles to fetch water. Widow Twanky's whites are getting grubbier and the lovely Princess Mazulla despairs of ever finding a suitable suitor. Who could the villain be? Will Aladdin, in true pantomime tradition, get the girl and save the day? Will it all end happily ever after?

Staging the Pantomime will give your group the opportunity to raise vital funds for WaterAid and help some of the world's poorest people gain access to drinking water and sanitation. Schools and youth groups have raised money through ticket sales and by holding bucket collections after their performances. In this way you will be helping communities in Africa and Asia where walking miles to fetch water is a daily reality. Just £15 is enough to give one person access to a lasting supply of safe water and basic loo!
