Urgent Appeal for Inner Wheel linked project in Dodoma, Tanzania

Nyemo Amani
Nyemo collecting water from the old water source in Michese, Tanzania. WaterAid has since installed 10 new tap stands in this village.

Inner Wheelers of GB & I, we need your help please. The Dodoma project in Tanzania that Inner Wheel has been funding is in its final stages. Together, we have come so far with this project, provided thousands of people with a lasting supply of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education and empowered women and girls in their communities.

However, we still have work to do. Within the villages of Makutupa and District, we still need to rehabilitate and lay pipes to serve 12 water points and train water user committees to ensure this work in sustainable and effective. This vital work will serve around 5,500 people with a lasting supply of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

We are looking for a final push in funding between now and World Water Day (22 March 2012), to finalize this work and we are asking Inner Wheel clubs across Great Britain and Ireland to donate a minimum of £150 to help us complete this work.
