Rotary and WaterAid

WaterAid has had the kind support of Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland for nearly 25 years. In the past few years, all donations from clubs within RIBI have gone directly towards our work in Tanzania.

Rotarians making a difference

In 2007/08, donations from RIBI provided over 10,000 people with safe water, sanitation and hygiene education - a fantastic achievement!

Rotary Clubs are always great at coming up with fun and inventive ways to raise money for WaterAid. Anything from sponsored swims to jazz and wine evenings can raise funds for our vital work.

The Rotary Club of Spey Valley and The Rotary Club of Ryde maintain a wishing well in two different Waltzing Water fountains. Together, the two Clubs have raised an absolutely amazing £300,000 for WaterAid.

The Rotary Club of Dumfries held an adrenaline filled go-karting challenge to raise money. The Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill organise The Concert in the Park, the second biggest event in Southend. In 2007, they chose WaterAid as one of the beneficiary charities.

So many other Clubs support WaterAid and we would like to thank every one of you! Your donations are making a real difference to some of the world's poorest people.
