"The most powerful way for a business to do good, is to do good business." Paul Walsh, Diaego, Chief Executive.

With the increasing value placed on Corporate social responsibility (CSR) by customers, employees and wider stakeholders alike, CSR is a key element for businesses in a highly competitive environment.

WaterAid works with a wide range of corporate partners and is excellently placed to deliver mutually beneficial partnerships. Whatever your goals, we can help with

  • Employee engagement to promote job satisfaction, well-being and skill development
  • Increasing sales or building customer loyalty by engaging with your customers
  • Environmental impact through support for our sustainable projects

We can also provide regular feedback on the contribution your support is making to WaterAid's work.

Aveda

"Beauty Is As Beauty Does"
Dominique Conseil, President, Aveda

Aveda chose WaterAid to benefit in 2010 from its annual Earth Month campaign, a global fundraising and awareness initiative which aims to take action and demonstrate Aveda's commitment to help people and the environment by supporting sustainable access to clean water around the world.

Earth Month is an opportunity to unite employees and customers from across the network of Aveda salons and spas around the UK, to reach a fundraising target of £78,000. Money was raised through sponsored walks, highlighting the long distances travelled to collect water in developing countries, and in-store and salon events. Funds will go towards WaterAid's projects in Nepal and Ethiopia, enabling communities to gain access to safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene education.

Corporate Social Responsibility is central to Aveda's philiosophy that there is no responsible alternative to doing business other than through environmental sustainability. Partnering with WaterAid enabled them to communicate this to employees, guests and media alike.

As Aveda’s mission explains "Our mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we strive to set an example of environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty but around the world."

The Publican

Tap into WaterAid The Publican logo
The Publican, a leading licensed retail newspaper, chose to partner with WaterAid to launch a media partnership in support of the Tap into WaterAid initiative. The partnership makes the most of the new drinking water code introduced by the government which requires pubs to serve tap water free of charge.
The Publican is calling on pubs and bars to ask customers for voluntary donations of 15p to WaterAid in return for free tap water to help provide the world’s poorest communities with safe water and sanitation, in addition to doing its own fundraising, and is hoping to raise £50,000 for WaterAid this year.
Pubs began signing up just hours after The Publican started promoting the initiative online, and the feedback received has been tremendous; pubs are really engaging with the simplicity of the message and the vital nature of WaterAid's work. It's also a great way for pubs to demonstrate to their customers their commitment to the environment by raising awareness of the global water crisis and raising funds to transform the lives of some of the world's poorest people.
Since 2005, Tap into WaterAid has seen cafes, pubs, restaurants and conference centres coming together with their customers to create a change from loose change.

Water is fundamental to business but there is a global water crisis happening right now, a crisis where one in eight people in the world today do not have access to a supply of safe water. It is essential that businesses, organisations and governments work together and take action on this crisis.
