Banner's restaurant

Banner's Restaurant in London's Crouch End is leading the way in linking tap water to WaterAid. In 2005, they proactively took the decision to ask their customers for a voluntary donation to WaterAid in return for tap water. 

The staff at Banner's Restaurant feel that the most important aspect of the scheme is that the donations go to life-saving water, sanitation and hygiene projects with minimal administration. Each amount comes through the till automatically and appears on the customer's bill as a donation.

It's so easy for all of us to take tap water for granted – but here in the UK, we are the lucky ones. This scheme is simple, clear and wonderfully effective.
