Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants' business depends on water. When the company expanded across India, they became aware of the vast number of people who live without access to clean water and safe toilets and so they decided to join forces with WaterAid.

Support for WaterAid's work is driven by Whitbread's Corporate Responsibility programme 'Good Together', a programme of initiatives to drive sustainable performance, deepen corporate responsibility and significantly reduce the company's environmental and social footprint.

£1m pledge

Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants have made an ambitious pledge of raising £1m by June 2011 for WaterAid's work in India.

They started fundraising in June 2009, and so far they have raised a staggering £900,000!
