Gareth Jones - Everest Base Camp Trek
WaterAid supporter Gareth Jones recently took the ultimate challenge and adventure experience by trekking up to the base camp at the world's highest mountain, Everest. This seventeen day expedition had him climbing through valleys, dense forests, and glacial rivers in the quest to reach the camp site and raise support for WaterAid.
Nepal has a population of 25.2 million but only 27% has access to proper hygienic sanitation facilities. Gareth's trip brought him in close contact with Nepalese people and he learnt about their lives on a whole new level.
Gareth first felt passionate about the world's water crisis after learning about WaterAid's work at the Glastonbury Festival and since then he's never looked back. For more information about Gareth's trip in Nepal visit his blog.
