Setting up your sponsorship page

Setting up your sponsorship page

Having a unique online sponsorship page through Justgiving for your team will enable colleagues, friends, family and corporate contacts to sponsor you easily via credit or debit card.

Sponsorship raised this way is automatically credited to your team and goes directly to WaterAid's bank account, making it easy for everyone.

We encourage you to use this facility as much as possible. Besides being convenient for you and your sponsors, it saves us adminitration costs that can in turn be put to better use helping some of the world's poorest people access safe water and sanitation.

Setting up your page could not be simpler, just follow these simple instructions:

  • Click 'Create your Page'

  • Select 'WaterAid Cisco Euro Challenge' - this is very important for us to identify which event you are taking part in and allocating the funds

  • Follow the instructions on the website to add the information of your selected Team Leader

  • Justgiving automatically uses your first name and surname to create your website address - please overwrite this with your company name and Challenger World team number

  • Gift Aid question: select 'No, the charity is not contributing'

  • Personalise your page with team images and a team message for potential sponsors. This can be updated at any time by signing in to your Justgiving account

  • Contact Beverley Wall on 020 7793 4931 or ciscoeuro@wateraid.org to inform us that your account has been set up - doing this will ensure your team is added to the league table on our web pages so you can monitor you're progress against the other competitors

How to get the most out of your Justgiving page

Once your page is up and running, you are free to start using it to collect sponsorship immediately. Most people do this by sending round an email to all their contacts containing a brief explanation about their motivations for taking part in the Cisco Euro Challenge with a link to the sponsorship page.

There are a host of ways to maximise its potential, here are a few ideas:

  • Engage with your supporters and email updates on your training and sponsorship progress

  • Add a link from your work and personal email signatures

  • Utilise your company website and intranet - add a widget or Justgiving badge. For details on how to do this, sign into your Justgiving account and click on the 'Your Fundraising Pages' tab

  • Publicise the challenge in your personal social circles - eg, the gym, sporting clubs, local pub etc and add the link to your Justgiving page

  • Add your page to Facebook - sign into your Justgiving account for more details
