Head to head for WaterAid

Team celebration
A team celebrates their win in the Cisco Euro Challenge.

23 May 2008

Eighty teams from some of the world's top businesses are going head to head in a challenge of fitness, intelligence and strategic thinking in the Cisco Euro Challenge to raise money for WaterAid. This exhilarating event will take place in Sauerland, Germany, 11 - 14 September 2008.

In this televised event up to 80 teams will descend onto the 'land of a thousand mountains' to take part in a unique inter-business competition. The Cisco Euro Challenge demonstrates the true power of teamwork in an exceptional experience that continues to engage, inspire and drive each individual's performance back in the office.

This year, as part of the challenge, the participating teams will be raising money to help WaterAid save lives across the world by providing safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to those that need it most.

Beverley Wall, Events Executive for WaterAid, said of the event:

"WaterAid is excited to be the beneficiary charity for the Cisco Euro Challenge. This is a truly unique event whereby businesses benefit hugely through team development and staff motivation as well as helping us to provide the basic facilities that everyone in the world has the right to have access to. We wish the teams the best of luck with their targets and with the challenge."

It takes as little as £15 to provide one person with a lasting supply of safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. The Cisco Euro Challenge aims to raise enough money for WaterAid to help 7,000 people.
