Trail100 Challenge achieved
12 June 2009 We did it! The WaterAid Trail100 Challenge, which took place on June 6, was achieved - but only just! For the first time we achieved the Challenge, with 1,954 people taking part in 373 teams, despite the poor weather. But it took some heroic last-minute mountain swapping by the teams led by Frank Bozic and Andrew Stewart to enable us to achieve the Challenge. We are hoping that the event will raise over £200,000 in sponsorship. The Challenge, put together by WaterAid and Trail magazine, aimed to put a team of walkers on 100 of the very best hills and mountains across the UK. In 2008, we just missed it, with teams on 95 of the 100 peaks.
Those who took part are also in with a chance of winning a fantastic Source Spinner Pro Race hydration pack, by uploading their best mountain photos and stories onto Trail's website www.livefortheoutdoors.com. If you took part and have not finished collecting your sponsorship, please get collecting! It's still not too late to set up an online giving page at Justgiving.com.
