Glastonbury Festival of Performing Arts

Since 1994, WaterAid has been delighted to be one of the main charities supported by the world renowned Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, and its organiser Michael Eavis.

The event requires over one million gallons of water, and sanitation becomes a major concern when turning this 900 acre dairy farm into a gigantic, bustling tented city.

This year at the festival, WaterAid asked people to sign our Loo Queue petition, to stop people in less developed countries having to live without proper sanitation.

Sing for Water

Since 2002, Sing for Water events have raised over £150,000 for WaterAid. This money has been directed into bringing clean water, sanitation and hygiene education to rural communities in Ghana and India.

With a massive annual event at the Thames Festival in London, as well as others around the UK and the world, Sing for Water is a growing musical movement and great fun to take part in too!

The Big National Ceidlidh

On 15 October 2011 thousands of people across the UK, and around the world, will be dancing to the sounds of traditional folk music to raise funds for WaterAid.

On this site you can find out more about the event, find a dance near you or download a fundraising pack and organise your own.

Even if you've never been to a ceilidh before, running your own couldn't be easier!

The Worker's Beer Company

WaterAid sends volunteers through the Workers Beer Company every year to work at some of the UK’s best music festivals. Volunteer opportunities in the past have included Glastonbury, Latitude, Reading, Leeds, Hop Farm and Proms in the Park. Volunteers will be expected to work between 4 and 7 hours a day behind the festival bars, serving drinks to festival goers. In return, you will be provided with food and free passes for the festival. In payment for your hard work, WaterAid will receive a contribution from the Workers Beer Company in accordance to the amount of hours that you work.

Volunteering for WaterAid through the Workers Beer Company is a great experience, not only will you be raising vital funds, but you will also get to go to some of the UK’s best music festivals for free!
