WaterAid at Glastonbury 2007

2007 was the biggest ever Glastonbury, and also one of the muddiest!

Despite the weather, the festival was still a huge success.

2007 highlights included:

Getting behind the rapidly growing End Water Poverty campaign, raising awareness about the global injustice that causes millions to live without access to clean water and sanitation. We gathered 10,000 signatures for the campaign, including those of Andrew Marr, Charlie Brooker, Mark Owen and Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters.

  • Highlighting climate change and the damaging effects this could have on water supplies in the poorer nations of Africa and Asia. As a member of Stop Climate Chaos WaterAid, along with the other Glasto charities Oxfam and Greenpeace, got behind the iCount campaign.

  • The Glasto premier of the new and very popular, very cute inflatable End Water Poverty hand costume (see picture, right)!
  • The return of the ever-popular WaterAid She Pees.

  • Raising a fantastic £20,000 from festival goer's donations alone.

  • Spotting our huge End Water Poverty flag and funny foam hands among the crowd and on TV.
