What?
Walk 10, 20 or 30 miles or alternatively cycle 13, 30 or 60 miles in the glorious Peak District - the choice is yours! (Distances are approximate.)

Registration costs £25 per person.

Where?
Across the Dark Peak Area of Derbyshire starting and ending at Hope Valley College, Castleton Road, Hope.

To take part you must comply with age restrictions for both the cycling and walking events as set out in the Challenge Rules.

The Severn Trent Mountain and Cycle Challenge has been running for over 16 years and the 2010 event raised £25,000 for WaterAid.

Our thanks goes to everyone who helps organise and takes part in the event.

Please note: To minimize the environmental impact of the challenge, a maximum of 80 walking teams and 50 cycle teams will be allowed to take part.

Ken Valentine

The 2012 Severn Trent Mountain Challenge is dedicated to Ken Valentine, a founder organiser and supporter of the challenge from its inception in 1993 until his untimely passing in 2011.

Ken was actively involved with the Challenge, dedicating much time and energy and operating as the Event Controller until 2009, as well as playing a significant role in course planning and design.

In 2004, Ken was recognised for his achievements for WaterAid with an 'Outstanding Achievement Award' personally signed by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. Ken's attention to detail and dedication was immensely valued by the organising committee and he will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and WaterAid.
