EWP Campaigns Intern
|
More details |
End Water Poverty is a global campaign coalition of 160 NGOs and charities working to end the sanitation and water crisis. We lobby rich governments to improve their aid effectiveness by better targeting money towards countries in most need and also work to build the capacities of those developing country governments to effectively spend the aid they receive.
End Water Poverty's International Secretariat is in need of an intern to drive forward several areas of work in an exciting campaigning year. On World Water Day 2010 we are launching the World's Longest Toilet Queue to apply pressure on a key political moment falling a month later - the world's first High Level Meeting on Water and Sanitation.
We'd like the successful applicant to oversee outreach on this event to some of our members and contacts, and also take a lead on social networking for the event. Additionally, we are approaching an array of dignitaries, celebrities and personalities to act as high profile supporters for the campaign, and the Campaign Intern would take a leading role in managing their recruitment, involvement and development.
Please download the End Water Poverty Campaigns Intern role description ( Word 30KB) and send a CV and cover letter if you're interested in applying. The internship is offered on a three day a week basis and we require a commitment of at least three months.

Here is what some of our volunteers have to say:
 |
"WaterAid makes its volunteers feel an important part of its efforts to bring safe water and sanitation to everyone in the world. As a WaterAid volunteer I can help other people as part of a really positive, pro-active and enthusiastic team." - Doug |
 |
"Having worked in the finance sector for 20 years, I was made redundant. This forced me to think about what I would like to do for the rest of my working career. I started volunteering for WaterAid both to support their cause and to understand how charities work. So far it's been brilliant, everyone is supportive, passionate and it’s a fantastic place to volunteer. WaterAid have also been so supportive in providing the necessary equipment for me working with a disability which has taken away any potential stress or discomfort." - Amanda |
 |
"Having come straight out of university, volunteering at WaterAid gave me a great insight into the workings and structure of such a successful organisation. I gained confidence dealing with supporters on the phone and face to face. When I came to interview for a permanent position, I felt I had the skills, knowledge and drive to carry out the role successfully." - Nina |
