This year's meeting looked back at some of our achievements, as well as to the future.

WaterAid's Annual Supporters Meeting took place on Friday 11 October at the Tower Hotel in London. Over 500 guests attended, made up of supporters and staff from the UK and around the world.

The theme of the day was 'Everyone, everywhere by 2030' – our exciting vision to reach everyone, everywhere with clean water, safe sanitation and hygiene education by 2030.

Guests heard from Dr Michael Ojo, Country Representative for WaterAid Nigeria, on whether this is achievable on the ground, as well as from the gold medal winning designers of the WaterAid gardens at Chelsea Flower Show.

WaterAid ex-trustee Dr Helen Pankhurst spoke about the impact of WaterAid's work on women and girls to mark International Day of the Girl.

Pupils from the City of London School recalled their visit to our work in Zambia earlier this year, as well as their incredible achievement of raising £123,000 for WaterAid over the past year. Truly inspiring stuff!

At the meeting, supporters also heard the fantastic news that WaterAid reached more people with water and sanitation than ever before in 2012/13. Thanks to you, we're well on our way to reach our target of 25 million people by 2015.

Figures published in our Annual Report 2012-13 show that last year we:

  • Reached 1.7 million people with safe water and 2.2 million people with sanitation
  • Raised £65.6 million – £9.8 million more than the previous year

For the first time at the ASM we had a digital guest book, kindly supplied by JP Morgan Chase. Comments on the day included:

Another inspirational ASM. A fantastic charity with great values.
I'll run the London Marathon again next year for WaterAid if you can make one promise: no more tap costume!
