The Sanitation and Water for All High Level Meeting in Washington DC on 11 April will be key in deciding how to achieve clean water and sanitation for everyone, everywhere by 2030. In the months leading up to World Water Day (22 March), WaterAid supporters had been urging International Development Secretary Justine Greening to play a leading role by attending this crucial meeting. With less than three weeks to go, 50 supporters at a special World Water Day event at the House of Lords were able to share in the moment when the Government announced that Justine Greening will attend. WaterAid supporter Linda Shurlock said: I'm delighted that Justine Greening will be representing the UK in Washington DC. I hope the Government continues to take the lead in setting the world on the historic path of ending water and sanitation poverty.
